A quiet space for considered living
Whether it is a question about a garment's fit, a fabric care query, or an update on your order, we keep communication straightforward. Our team is small, so you will always speak with someone who knows the stock and the makers behind it.
For order queries, returns, or questions about a specific piece, email is the quickest route. We read every message and reply with practical answers, not templates.

We aim to reply to all emails within one business day. Calls are answered during studio hours, Monday to Friday. If you write to us over a weekend, expect a reply by the following Tuesday at the latest.
Once we receive your message, we confirm within a few hours. For fit or fabric care questions, we may ask for a photo or a few measurements so the advice is specific to your piece. Order-related queries usually resolve within two business days.
The notes below are meant to keep expectations realistic. We work with small-batch production and local makers, which means timelines and availability can shift more than they would with a large retailer. Please read through these points so there are no surprises later.
Each garment is produced in limited runs. Once a piece sells out, it may not return in the same fabric or colorway. If you see something you like in the lookbook, it is worth checking the shop page rather than assuming it will be restocked. We do not hold items without a confirmed order.
Our size guide is based on measurements taken from actual samples, not generic industry standards. Because we work with several different pattern cutters, fit can vary slightly between styles. When you are unsure, send us your measurements before ordering and we will point you to the right size or suggest a minor alteration.
Natural fibers behave differently from synthetics. Linen wrinkles, indigo may bleed in the first wash, and hand-dyed pieces can fade if exposed to strong sun. Care instructions are included with every order, and our fabric care guide explains why we recommend cold water and air drying for most items.
Maker profiles and style notes reflect the views of the people we interview. We do not edit their opinions to fit a narrative, and we do not accept payment for coverage. When a piece in the shop is linked to an article, it is because we genuinely stock it, not because we were asked to feature it.
Orders are packed and dispatched within three working days. Custom and made-to-order pieces take longer, and we will confirm the exact timeframe before you commit. Delivery is available across South Africa, and we will share tracking details as soon as your parcel leaves the studio.
If anything here is unclear, or if you have a situation that does not fit these guidelines, reach out before placing an order. A quick conversation now can save a lot of back-and-forth later.
From the first conversation about your wardrobe to the moment a finished piece reaches your door, we keep the steps clear and the expectations honest. Here is the timeline we follow for most custom and curated orders.
Week 1
We start with a conversation about how you actually live in your clothes. Work commitments, climate, the shapes you feel good in. This is where we decide whether you need a full capsule refresh or just a few considered additions.
Week 2
We pull options from our current rotation and introduce you to local textile artisans whose work matches your brief. You feel the fabrics, see the colorways in natural light, and we narrow down what will genuinely last beyond one season.
Weeks 3–4
For made-to-measure pieces, we schedule a fitting with the seamstress handling your garment. This is the moment to talk through hem lengths, sleeve proportions, and any fit adjustments that will make the piece feel like yours.
Week 5
You receive the finished garment with care instructions specific to the fabric. We also share notes on how to style it within your existing wardrobe, so the piece earns its place rather than sitting unworn in a closet.
Timelines can shift slightly depending on fabric availability and the schedules of the makers we work with. If you need a piece by a specific date, let us know during the first consultation so we can plan around it.
